Outliers Mining Solutions' model is to have high-performing and self-sufficient resources with a combination of operational and technical expertise as well as  business improvement and change management skills.

This combination of skills and experience allows us to assess operations and highlight performance gaps and improvement opportunities quickly, and to generate and implement actions to deliver performance gains.

As a result of the strength of our team members, our model doesn’t require dedicated technical, managerial or implementation personnel. We are able to keep costs low and deliver sustainable results in a short time frame.

Salar Javid

Salar applies his multidisciplinary approach and “hands on” experience in mining, maintenance and technology to develop practical approaches that help sites increase operational efficiency via his ability to engage people, systems and processes.

With over 12 years of in mining, he has worked across the mining sector and in multiple commodities in operations in every continent. 

Salar holds a BSc. in Mining (Mechanical Option) from Queen’s University (Canada) and a Diploma in Mining Engineering from TU Delft (Holland).

Adam Hewitt

Adam is a Mine Optimization Specialist who has worked across the mining sector for 12 years on three different continents. He has significant and “hands on” experience leading mine optimization transformations at open pit mines through the use of fleet management systems.

Adam holds a BSc. in Mining Engineering from Queens University and is also a trained Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Adam is an excellent communicator and an expert in change management.

Brad Jewson

Brad has over 10 years of engineering and continuous improvement experience within the mining industry. Prior to joining Outliers Mining Solutions, Brad was a business improvement and technical professional specializing in de-bottlenecking projects, short and long range mine planning, strategic business planning, mine optimization, and operating excellence.

Brad has a BSc. in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University and is a Certified Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt.

Simon Fleury

Simon is a multi-skilled mining specialist with 15 years of operational and technical experience in the mining industry in Canada and in Australia. His global understanding of mining processes combined with his financial acumen and pragmatic approach allows him to identify opportunities and create value at any operation. His experience in developing teams is a great asset when it comes to engaging and motivating people to achieve audacious goals.

Simon holds a B.Sc in mining engineering and an MBA from Laval University. Prior to joining Outliers Mining Solutions, Simon worked for Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton.

Ian Tully

Ian is a Mining Engineering and Fleet Management Systems Specialist with an extensive background in Base Metal and Coal mines world wide.

Ian holds a B.Eng in Mining from  University of Queensland and worked as a Mine Services Engineer and Project Engineer for modular mining for 9 years.  Ian has previously worked for Modular, Freeport, Rio Tinto, Equinox, Barrick and Newcrest.

Etienne Tardif

Etienne is a Maintenance, Business Improvement, Business Process and SAP (PM, MM, FI) Specialist with an extensive background in Mine/Process maintenance with 15 years of operational experience in precious metals, diamonds, iron ore in Canada and Australia.

Etienne excels in finding simple practical solutions and delivering effective coaching and mentoring for all maintenance roles (Trades to General Manager).

Etienne holds a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Carleton University.  Etienne has previously worked for Placer Dome/Goldcorp, DeBeers, BHP Billiton and Detour Gold in senior maintenance and management roles.
